Our 2019 production will be a new production of Shakespeare’s masterpiece, the wonderful The Tempest to be directed by John Timewell. The play will be staged over one week from 18th – 22nd June 2019.
Prospero, the true Duke of Milan is now living on an enchanted island with his daughter Miranda, the savage Caliban and Ariel, a spirit of the air. Raising a storm to bring his brother – the usurper of his dukedom – along with his royal entourage, to the island, Prospero plans his revenge.
I am pleased to advise you that our production of The Tempest has raised £15,455 which is the second highest amount out of our ten productions and brings the total raised in the last ten years to £112,832. The donations to our charities are therefore :
We thoroughly enjoyed it, your best yet and a bit of rain and no microphones just added to the drama !

Great performance. Well done to cast and crew under challenging circumstances.
A great evening thanks and well done! Hope you didn’t all get too wet.
Brilliantly acted and produced. Well done Garden Players for another excellent evening for an extremely good cause.
I enjoyed the play. It was a marvellous setting and the actors did a great job.
We both enjoyed The Tempest: it was really well done. It brought out the story clearly and the complex character of Prospero. Maybe you should warn people like me to take appropriate medication. I was really feeling queasy in the opening scene when you were all swaying about clinging on to ropes for your survival. But then, I am a really bad sailor.

I saw a performance of the Tempest at Stubbings near Maidenhead at the weekend and I saw that you (Stuart) and Trish are supporters of The Garden Players. It was an excellent evening – helped of course by a bit of good weather – but the acting was very good.
